I'd recommend Gaiman's "Good Omens" as a setup.

Re: The Great Book of Amber

There were other Amber stories published by other authors after Zelazny's passing - while the Great Book is the complete canonical collection, I haven't read the others. I've been instructed to ignore them based on subject matter - but I may end up ignoring that, the way I'm considering waving my embargo on non-Frank Herbert-written DUNE books. Good fiction is getting hard to find.

Good luck on the hunt - and thanks much for commenting!

Re: The Great Book of Amber

I've loved the Amber series ever since first reading it. I read books 6-10 as they came out.

There are actually a few post book 10 short stories that appear in the Amber Diceless Role-playing game's magazine. I've yet to read them, and am hoping they were collected somewhere else too. Alas, it sounds like they weren't in The Great Book of Amber.

So I guess I keep on looking.

Re: Part 4 – Ogre!

Yeah, Kintere's always an awkward one to write from an in-the-head perspective. I'm still a bit uncertain just HOW big he is, how obvious his trip ups would be to others. It'll sort, though, especially during the parts that are heavily his later on.

Re: Part 4 – Ogre!

I'm not sure we get a full idea of Kintere's physicality in this bit, compared to his compatriots an his own inner fear. Something of the five senses missing, but I'm not sure what I mean by that. But it still makes me grin.
